Background:

The Wasat for change is a Women Right to Health project, the concept is focused in advocating for community change, the change to increase women voice, to increase women right to reproductive health and abandon harmful cultures undermining women, to increases women participation to community development. The project is being implemented in North Pokot sub county, West Pokot County in Kenya.

The project targets all the women both young and old in this Wasat sublocation, in Chelopoy location.  As the heads of the house and makes all decision, the project also targets men, both young and old.

The project strategy has been to train and motivate some community members to lead in community sensitization process to drum up support for a change process. This is done through formation of community groups (champions) made up of both women and men, boys and girls and local leaders. 

This is the third year of the project and the specific expected results for this year is shown below.

Objective:
To start a community change changes process, which lead to increase in women rights to reproductive health and voice in the community and to see women participating in community development for a healthier and informed community.
