Joy, unity and hope filled Melle and Katumkale as communities came together to celebrate the launch of two community-led change initiatives: Melle for Change and Katumkale for Change.

An Idea Whose Time Has Come

The launch marked more than the beginning of new projects. It marked a growing community commitment to protect girls, empower women, challenge harmful practices and build healthier futures.

A Celebration in Melle and Katumkale

Melle and Katumkale came alive with song, dance and celebration as community members, leaders and stakeholders gathered to officially launch Melle for Change and Katumkale for change.

The vibrant gathering reflected the community’s desire and commitment to creating positive change. The project will strengthen community action to end harmful cultural practices, prevent teenage pregnancy and child marriage, promote education, and improve women’s right to access reproductive health services.

Together for Change

Though celebrated in two different communities, both launches carried one powerful message: lasting change begins when communities come together.

Melle. Katumkale. Two communities. One shared vision for change. 💙
